A customer came to us recently with his 2006 Subaru Outback XT 5EAT . Most of the time when we see OBXT’s it’s just for maintenance or repairs, but this gentleman had something else in mind. While keeping the car completely stock in appearance AND sound, he wanted to be able to humble muscle cars on the freeway of Northern California. He also stipulated that the response characteristic of the turbo chosen had to mimic those of the OEM turbocharger, while passing the tailpipe sniffer come smog inspection time. With this unusual and challenging set of requirements we set forth building him a car that would satisfy and even exceed his expectations.

-YimiSport custom cold air intake and sound deadened heatshield
-Stock 130k+ mile 5EAT transmission with cooler and Hex-mod valvebody

The poor stock torque converter is a little overwhelmed in this application leading to some irregular power transfer at high rpms but will do till it comes time for a fully build transmission.
